Osama Bin Laden is Dead!

Hoo-yah!

Ok, first of all, let me say this.  Bin Laden helped cause our nation so much pain and suffering and I am sure that many, many families feel closure from his death.  Do I think he needed to be killed?  Well, not necessarily.  I do think he needed to be captured and tried for his crimes, and the punishment would most surely have been death.  So we skipped a few steps, I'm not getting hung up on that.
Do I think people should be dancing in the streets, celebrating his death?  Absolutely not.
"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that" -- Martin Luther King, Jr.

The sad thing to me is, that the people being most blatant and outspoken about this are Christians.  As Christians, we should not be celebrating death.  We should be praying for our troops, for the people affected by this, and praying that there will not be any retaliation against us.  Not dancing in the streets.

Also, it absolutely disgusts me how people have been badmouthing the president all day.  I did vote Obama, but this has nothing to do with that.  People should NOT be posting on Facebook that it should have been the president killed instead of Bin Laden, or that the reason it took so long for him to come make his speech was because he was mourning his cousin, or that the only reason they are upset that Bin Laden was killed is because it will help Obama's ratings go up.  Seriously?  I have friends with different political beliefs, its really okay.  I'm not going to shove my beliefs done your throat, but the flat-out ignorance makes me want to vomit.  Have some respect.
